The Foodservice Australia expo is almost here

Media release: 24 April 2024

The annual Foodservice Australia show is now only a few weeks away and organisers say it will be the biggest and best yet. It runs at the ICC Sydney from 19-21 May. There will be over 350 exhibitors and special events including the Chef of the Year, National Restaurant Conference, Aged Care Catering Summit, Café School and Sweet Spot Theatre.

Event Director Tim Collett says it is a critical event for the food and hospitality industry. He says there has never been a more important time for bars, cafes, caterers and restaurants to stay up to date with the latest food, drink and equipment trends.

“We know that consumers are cutting back on their discretionary spend but the good operators are still doing well. People are still eating out but tastes are changing. This event will show you how to improve your menu and your bottom line at the same time. If you are in the food business then you need to be there.”

In addition to the exhibitors there are a series of free workshops on the show floor, the finals of the Chef of the Year competition and two huge conferences. Speakers and presenters include Neil Perry, George Calombaris, Kirsten Tibbles, Luke Mangan, Nelly Robinson, Con Dedes and many more.

Entry to the show is free but strictly trade only. You must be over 16 and work in a food or hospitality business. That means you can have genuine business conversations. It is a unique opportunity to engage with your regular suppliers and find some new ones.

The conferences require extra payment but represent excellent value. You can get all the details including speakers and topics on the website.

Collett points out the show is also an important time for suppliers to generate new business. After bouncing back strongly from covid many are finding sales are slowing. The show is their chance to see regular clients and thousands of new ones.

“It is hard to get through to busy cafes and restaurants. People don’t answer phones and you cannot knock on every door. A lot of sales teams have been cut back. The show is the only time everyone gets together under one roof and talks business. If you are a supplier and have not booked a stand then I encourage you to contact us this week.”

Foodservice Australia runs from 19-21 May at ICC Sydney. Entry is strictly trade only. For more information on visiting or exhibiting visit the website at www.foodserviceaustralia.com.au.
