2018 National Restaurant Conference

Trending topics, practical solutions at National Restaurant Conference

International as well as local issues affecting the restaurant industry will be explored at the 2018 National Restaurant Conference (NRC) in Sydney on 28 May, with practical solutions the order of the day.

The line-up of inspiring and informative speakers includes Marta Pogroszewska, Retail Director of Gail’s Artisan Bakery UK; savvy Sydney operators Christine Manfield, Somer Sivrioglu, Craig Macindoe and Josh Niland; Restaurant & Catering Australia CEO Juliana Payne, and Alistair Venn, Managing Director at Menulog.

“This event is aimed squarely at restaurateurs, caterers and managers,” explains Exhibition Director Tim Collett. “If you are looking for new ideas to boost your business bottom line then this is an amazing opportunity – you get to network with industry leaders and hear it straight from the experts.”

Supported by Restaurant & Catering Australia, the NRC will be held as part of Foodservice Australia at the new ICC Sydney at Darling Harbour on Monday 28 May.

Marta Pogroszewska will draw on her experience at UK’s highly successful café bakery group Gail’s Artisan Bakery, as well as her 14 years at premium casual powerhouse Pret A Manger in London and New York. She will present an unmissable session ‘Creating a world class operating culture’, and also discuss dining trends with Graeme McCormack from Food Associates and Craig Macindoe from Kensington Street precinct.

Juliana Payne will present R&CA’s state of the industry address, while Josh Niland from Saint Peter and Somer Sivrioglu from Efendy will share their insights as successful stand alone operators in separate presentations

Christine Manfield will join Profitable Hospitality’s Ken Burgin and Libby Cupitt from Cupitt’s Winery, Brewery & Kitchen to discuss the growth of brand extensions and pop-up experiences.

More topics include:

  • Grow your business through online ordering
  • Influencers, bloggers and social media
  • Making technology work for you
  • Challenges in human resources.

Sponsored by Menulog, OrderMate and Nespresso, the conference will run from 9am-4pm on Monday 28 May right on the show floor of Foodservice Australia, so delegates can see all the new products on display. Registrations are $249 including all sessions and lunch, with a special offer of $99 for R&CA members.

“This is incredibly good value,” says Collett. “Owners and senior managers will get the most out of this event, but it is open to anyone working in the hospitality industry and we encourage businesses large and small to bring their team, so all staff may benefit.”
